Where's Your Head at?

Me and my Buddy have been given the job by the brickyard to redesign their regular indie night poster because it has not changed in over two years. So since the brief was given we have both tried different layouts and approaches. None of which have been confirmed so far. but we will get there eventually.

so  I have been Trying out new designs and layouts for this indie poster because no one is sure what they want for the end product. I have applied my current favourite type positioning to the idea of people losing there head over the music that they love. Collage has to be some where according to the brief that we have been given

ever get the feeling you've been cheated?

I have been cheated but I am trying not to get down hearted because I made some great work for someone but they just couldn't see it. I have been messaging various companies for work and this gymnastics club got back to me and were very interested in my work, but they liked NOTHING i did for them, not one logo had one redeeming feature. Above and below are my favourite examples of work which I am more than welcome to change the name and words to meet a request if any gymnastics club owners are reading this.

Concrete Jungle

Bloc Party can hunt for witches and I can hunt for work. I have been messaging companies on companies asking if they need any work doing. I have been asking; cafe's, Bar's and anywhere that I can think of. I got a number of rejections but one reply was from the biggest clubs in Carlisle, concrete. They wanted two posters both in quick succession. One for a UV Party and one for a Battle of the Halls event both to be held at their low ceiling venue. Glad they liked the style of them as it's something different to the standard club night poster.

Do you even brand?

Logos are the most important thing for any brand or shop. Its the identity that everyone will recognize them for. So it is an important one. Traditionally night club logos have really naff logos but this may be due to the terrible names that they have. I do like designing logos because the challenge of branding is a difficult.

Recently I discovered too that I use a lot of the same colour schemes so I have chosen to re-evalualted these for the logos above and tried some different ones. souring inspiration from my pinterest boards. I have also recently garnered an obsession with the typeface twentieth century.

If you are a bar/club and like the above, please get in touch.

A Club Like No Other

An explosion of fun would be had at this club. That's why I wrote and recorded a song about it, then designed the sleeve for it as if it was a single. I've chose the pop art feel because the lyrics of the song references a few points in pop culture. Inspired by the Hacienda club in Manchester, its all about having a good time and that is what I have tried to achieve visually.
