You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)

Been making gifs today if you can't already tell. Both of these gifs are for my fictional post punk record label "Conventional Experimental Records"; named after the line in The Mighty Fall song "New Puritan" which is my favourite Fall song (at the minute). It flickers between Jawbone and the Air rifle (album version), The N.W.R.A (album version) or New Puritan (Peel Session).

Anyway, Got Side tracked. I have been meaning to make these gifs because with this being a record company the main output of the label will be records and what do records do; spin. Gifs have come back into popularity with recent introduction to social media. They were a very thing because all websites used them to get that "cutting edge" look because web pages were just static; now they have so many elements that move; they aren't needed as much.

I hope to add these to my website to add movement to portfolio of awesome work (if I say so myself).

Bank Holiday Monday Special

Posters galore for you this Monday. All of the photos used in these posters were taken from vintage issues of NME; most of which I had never seen before, making them more than a pleasure to use & incorporate them into designs. Interstate is the font of choice, which I haven't really used and was reminded of it's existence by the graphic designer and teacher and author Ellen Lupton.

Admittedly some of these posters are better than the others and some are more interesting than others. but I suppose that's all in the eye of the beholder, I suppose. All of the gigs are real and did happen most of which I would love to of gone to.

These Fallish Things

The Fall. MES. Mark. Edward. Smith. singer. Lyricist. Poet. National Treasure. Legend.

This is what I made to show off him as a writer and as an awesome front man. It is a rough and ready fanzine using a one font and the style of Russian constructivism. A band with politically motivated intentions would I feel would not be offended by this. If you are a fall fan; please comment the songs that you discover on each page and we will have a competition.
